THANKS!
Thank you to the parents who have donated items for our classroom. The students are using the materials donated on a daily basis. It is greatly appreciated!

A Special Thanks:

The students did fantastic! I was so impressed with the hard work and effort each student put towards their part in the program. It turned out great! Great Job!!!

Thank You

Where has all the time gone? It is hard to believe that we are already nearing our last few days of school! The Kindergarten and 1st grade class has been reflecting on the school year and remembering the things they have learned and the things they liked the most. As I look back, I found that I learned many things from each individual in this classroom! I am going to miss the great families and events that are here at St. Rose! I want to thank all the students and families that have made it an awesome experience here at St. Rose! I hope that I have impacted everyone’s life as much as you have mine! Thank you for all the life long memories.

Deanna Rose Farmstead

The day at the farmstead turned out to be a great day for the students and volunteers that attended. The morning started off with the fear that we were rained out and wouldn’t be able to go; however, everything worked and we headed off to Overland Park. Once we arrived, we were taken to a corral where we ate lunch. After the students finished their lunch, we had a guide begin our tour walking us around the farmstead and introducing us to the different types of animals. We learned about a buffalo named Sunny, a long horned bull named Bow, the prairie dogs, peafowl’s, the goats, the bobcats, and many more animals. After the students went through the farmstead we took a ride through the woods and around the edge of the farmstead on a wagon ride. Once we were finished with the wagon ride we had to begin our final journey home. I only wish we had more time to go through other parts of the farmstead. Over all a very great day!!!!!

Play day is May 19th
Last Day of School is May 21st. School is dimissed at 1pm.

Year in Review

The kindergarten and 1st grade room has done many different things this year.

*The students presented their grandparents with The Little Red Hen

(Acting the book out for the school and their grandparents)

*We worked on sharing Christmas cheer with others around us by

going to sing and present candy canes and cards to the

residents in the nursing home.

*We had a fantastic Christmas Music Program

*The students won the canned goods donation contest, so people in

Anderson County could have food over the holidays.

*The students had an all day Dr. Seuss day! This day was designed

to have the students involved with reading in one way or another. We even had guest speakers come in and read their favorite Dr. Seuss book. Linda also did a Horton Hears a Who art activity with the kids.

*Had a school wide magic show!

*Had students from a high school come and do science related

activities.

*We had a week filled with religious activities for Catholic Schools Week

-Taking a trip to the St. Rose Memorial Park in Mound City

-Spelling Bee

-Making religious shirts and rosaries

-School wide rosary

-Talent show

*We had a fantastic Spring Music Program

*Took a field trip to Deanna Rose Farmstead to learn about different

animals.

What an AMAZING School Year!
